Pangolins

There are seven species of pangolins.

Ground pangolins,  sunda  pangolins, giant pangolins , chinese pangolins , tree pangolins , long-tailed pangolins and indian pangolins.

All kinds of pangolins have a long, thin tongue.

Tree pangolins can walk on all fours or on its hind legs.  Instead of having teeth, tree pangolins have sand and small stones in their body to help digest food.

This is a skeleton of a Chinese pangolin.  Look at how the tail and the head connect to the body.

Manta Ray

images-2images-1

Manta rays are a type of sting rays that have white markings on their backs and don’t have a barb (a stinger) on its tail.

The length a manta ray can grow ( wing tip to wing tip ) is up to 7m.

They are one of my favourite animals because manta rays glide through the water in magnificent fashion!
