Grizzly Bear

The Grizzly Bear is a subspecies of Brown Bear living in North America.  They are nicknamed the Silvertip Bear because of its shiny, silvery fur.

Grizzly Bears eat almost anything, from tough plants, to insects and roots, then to shellfish such as clams. They live in North America, where there is plenty of salmon to eat.

Grizzly Bears are 6 to 7 feet tall when they are standing, and are 3 to 4 feet tall on all fours.

A female Grizzly Bear are called a sow.  Sows weigh 130 to 200kg, and male Grizzly Bears weigh 180 to 360kg.

A sow will hunt for food, and take care of her cubs and herself.

A male Grizzly Bear will be single, and will just need to take care of himself.

Echidna

Echidnas and their platypus cousins are the only egg laying mammals in the whole world.

There are only four species of echidnas. The short-beaked echidna is one of them.

A baby echidna called a puggle is kept in it’s mother’s pouch.

Echidnas are also called spiny anteaters.

Proboscis Monkeys

Proboscis monkey is a large monkey, being one of the largest monkey species native to Asia.

As a herbivore, proboscis monkeys eat mostly fruit and leaves.It also eats flowers,seeds and insects but less.

An adult proboscis monkey’s method of going to the other trees is to swim there. The youngster’s method is to leap to the other trees.

Proboscis monkeys are only found in the island of borneo.

Giant Pandas

Giant pandas are one of the most unique animals.

They are only found in China, native to the country.

Giant pandas are omnivores (meat and plant eaters).

Giant pandas are usually seen continuously  eating  tons of bamboo, but they are  skilled climbers and they are fantastic swimmers.

Some people think these lumbering, chubby creatures are rather cute. But giant pandas are very dangerous .

Pangolins

There are seven species of pangolins.

Ground pangolins,  sunda  pangolins, giant pangolins , chinese pangolins , tree pangolins , long-tailed pangolins and indian pangolins.

All kinds of pangolins have a long, thin tongue.

Tree pangolins can walk on all fours or on its hind legs.  Instead of having teeth, tree pangolins have sand and small stones in their body to help digest food.
